"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
These words spoken by Adonai Himself reveal to us how we should feel about the World around us and how we should balance things. There are forces in everyone's life that would try to captivate us into a life spent in serving other gods, and/or lifestyles and values that all lead to the pit. Yeshua is giving those with ears to hear the perspective they need to get it right in this life.
Heaven and hell are realities that we ignor at are own peril. There are basically two world views that are embraced by people in the body of our Messiah::
1.) There is the view that Yeshua HaMashiach came to save the World, that through faith in His Atonement; and, it is of the utmost importance to get His message of His Kingdom to everyone in the World. Then,
2. ) There is the world view that says we need to make this World a better place to go to hell from. Of course, if you listen to myself and those in our congregation, you will know almost immediately that we believe No. 1. and we go to the greatest lengths possible to get the message of the Gospel of Yeshua the Messiah to Jews and Gentiles in the best way we can.
Please understand, we are not against making things around us better, but eternity is our primary concern. It is scriptural to be a good steward of what the Lord has given to us, and we must render unto Caesar what is Caesars. However, that is the point. Our Kingdom is Yeshua's Kingdom and it is not of this World. And though we are in this World, the eternal Kingdom is what we work for, long for, and strive for.
Frankly, I'm always amazed at those ministers who claim to know Yeshua, and know His Word, and how they think that this World is to be valued at all costs. They care more about position, leisure and how well they look among their peers and really aren't concerned for the souls of mankind. We are late in the game. We cannot be indifferent to the eternal destination of those around us. Let all the people of Yeshua arise and tell of the glorious redemption found only in the Pesach Lamb of God!
