Man's Destruction Of Man

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3,
"For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord       so cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape."

Here's a thought:  Mankind has never invented a weapon he did not use.  I'm not totally sure if that is true, but it sure rings true, and makes sense.  Hiram Maxim, the inventor of the machine gun, said many years ago,  "Only a general who was a barbarian would send his men to certain death against the concentrated power of my new gun."  Well, that was before World War 1 and we know now how the two world wars used machine guns to kill people by the tens of thousands.  They still mow people down today all over the world.  During the first world war, often times, thousands would be killed in just minutes.   Carnage became a normality to the generals on all sides.  In the battle of the Somme alone in World War 1, the British lost 30,000 men in one half an hour.

History shows the folly in hoping that each new, more destructive weapon will be used for peace.  It's against human nature.  Yet we dare to hope that this time it will be different.  For decades, the United States and the Soviet Union collected a combined arsenal of over 50,000 nuclear weapons.   This was the equivalent in destructive force of some 6,000 World War II’s taking place.  How crazy is that? Well, that was decades ago now and here we are in 2015.   Things aren't better, they are much worse.  Orville Wright, the co-inventer of the airplane in 1903, along with his brother Wilbur, had a similar vision to 'machine gunner' Hiram Maxim.  He once said, "When my brother and I built and flew the first man-carrying flying machine, we thought we were introducing into the world an invention that would make further wars practically impossible."   What?  Orville, what were you smoking?   Never before in history has man invented anything like the airplane that literally has 'rained' down more destruction on our fellow man.  During the 2nd World War, in firebombing raids on London, Hamburg and Tokyo the airplane wrought unimaginable levels of destruction.  Europe was left in ruins.  The world had seen a nightmare.  In a single night, March 9, 1945, 25% of Tokyo was destroyed, 80,000 people were killed, and over 1 million left homeless.  All this was done by airplanes.

History shows the futility in hoping that each new, more destructive weapon will stop people from using it on one another.  Mutual assured destruction, or MAD, is only for people who actually care enough for their own people not to attack others.  Unfortunately, who can today show any evidence that this is the case among the leaders of the world?   And yet, we dare to hope that this time it will be different.  Sigh.

Do you think nuclear war could happen?  I do.  In fact, because I've studied it, I believe a last days nuclear war is   a big part of the scenario of the last days Bible story.           If this be the case, then nuclear war is 100% certain to occur.  I wish it were different but I know the Bible and I also know human nature.  Also, I've been listening to the higher ups in our country recently.  I've also heard the buzz around the world, especially in Russia and China.  They all talk about it now as a virtual cerrtainty.  In fact, I think they're planning for it.  And, please don't forget all the smaller, more hostile governments seeking and obtaining nuclear arsenals.  Come quickly my Lord!

A renouned Bible prophecy teacher, Irvin Baxter, has discussed the certainty of nuclear war in our future.  He says, "The question is not, “Is there going to be a World   War III?”  It is in your Bible.  There is not a one tenth of one percent chance that it is not going to happen.  Another world war is coming, and it will be the biggest world war ever.  According to the Bible, one out of three people on the earth will die in this war of all wars!  The prophecy is found in Revelation 9:15, “And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.”

You do the math.  That “third part of men” is over two   billion people!  Think about it.  One out of every three   people in the whole world will enter eternity all at once.

Incredibly fierce days are ahead of us.  What have you done to prepare your heart for the trauma that lies ahead for planet earth?  Nuclear war is actually mentioned, or alluded to, in many places in scripture.  It is coming, and probably sooner than later.  Even with that being the case it is not   for us to worry or lose sleep.  The name Yeshua means, 'Savior'.  It is also the word used for 'Safety'.  The only safe place to be for the child of God is in God's will.  We need to be firmly in His arms and in His heart!  Yeshua HaMashiach is our resting place now and forever.

Zechariah 14:12,
"And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth."
