Judgement Begins In God's House

1 Peter 4:17,
"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"

The other day some people from our congregation visited another Messianic congregation for the seating of a new Rabbi.  This particular congregation had dwindled noticeably over the past couple of years and these people, who had left, still wanted to wish this person well.  During the service this new Rabbi said something to the effect, "Well over the past couple of years we have been through a lot and have had to get rid of some impurities."  Impurities? This was the same person who about 3 years ago, as youth director, was serving alcohol to his youth group on New Years Eve.  I have young adult children and their friends who had attended this party telling me how the booze was flowing, how raisins were laced with hard liquor and how they drove home, some of them, under the influence.   Several of these young people, all believers in Yeshua, were appalled at what they had witnessed and wanted to know what I thought.  I was flabbergasted.  It took me several months to finally depart from this 'ministry' concerned with 'purity', but it reminded me of how dark things have become in the body of Messiah in our days.

1 Peter 5:8,
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

Ephesians 5:18,
"And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be               filled with the Spirit;"
Believers must understand that we are in a war.  It is a spiritual war.  We cannot be neutral and we have to be vigilant, on guard.  We need to be all filled with the Spirit of the Living God.  We have to sharpen the weapons of this spiritual war given to us by the Lord and we must understand that this life we live on Earth is not a game. The stakes couldn't be higher:  Eternal life and/or everlasting death.  It is a real fight, and it concerns all of us because it is a fight for all of our souls.  Ha Satan is looking for the unguarded heart.  He, and his minions study us and look for an opening.  He specializes in attacking, and putting to sleep people who have come to Messiah Yeshua but are not maintaining their sobriety (not just alcohol either) and vigilance.  We are admonished to be hot for our Lord and NOT luke warm.  The devil doesn't play fair, he doesn't just leave us alone but will look to attack when we leave our flanks open.  I tell people every week to wake up and it hurts to see so many with their heads stuck firmly in the sand with their buttocks waving in the breeze.  No serious believer in Yeshua can stay strong and in good standing with Adonai while playing footsy with the world.  The enemy will find these fake, sleeping believers every time.  Here is a warning:  The leaders in charge of God's people need to wake up to the spiritual realities around them because they will answer to Elohim Himself.  Wake up and strengthen those things that remain.  All of those chosen by our God to lead today need to repent of not properly preparing our people for this war.  The punishment for false shepherds will be very severe.  Indeed, judgment begins in the house of the Lord!

Romans 1:28,
"And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;"

Galatians 6:6-8
"6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting."
